One of the most exciting events this week has been the cooking group’s visit to Bentley Tafe. The group got to look around the Bakery, Butchery and Vet clinic where there were snakes. Mrs Reeves fled from the room for that part of the visit, but showed remarkable bravery when it came to lunch at the Bentley Pines restaurant run by Tafe students. She had ox tongue for entree` and ostrich for lunch as a way of encouraging our students to be adventurous. A few took up her challenge, but probably regretted it. The group also got to visit the fashion students and look at fabrics and sewing techniques.
A few more examples of Show Time progress is: The fishing group have been working on fishing lines; the jewellery group are making beaded mobiles and the camping group are preparing for camp, but looking at what to pack and how to erect tents. Hip Hop students have practised the beginnings of a routine and have learnt the “Six Step” and the “Pendulum” from local dance teacher, Nadia. Above right- Ms Bennett, Dylan and TJ & co. Actually Ms B is behind the camera.
Lastly, a special mention to our helpers in Mr Simonsen’s wonderful vegetable garden. It is great to see the hard work from last year on the garden beds paying off. Right- Kyle McGuigan.
