Ms Katrina Narkle – Exhibition
Katrina presented the first section of her exhibition on the netball court of East Maddington Primary School. Watching her prove that “a fourteen year old girl is able to successfully coach young aspiring netballers” were Mr Billing, Mr Hogan (member of Big Picture Australia board), Mr Taylor, Debbie (the coach), various parents, Sam, Ben, Jeremy (from Katrina’s Advisory) and her teacher Mr Belotti.
Katrina took the eleven nine and ten year olds through a brief warm-up followed by a skills section, drills and finally a game. She gave clear instructions to the girls and used her whistle appropriately.

This week marks the first week that we have awarded honour certificates to students who have performed admirably in the past week. This compliments our Certificates of Merit and Endeavour that are distributed at the end of each semester.

We currently have approximately 60% of our year group participating in our Internship program. This requires students to work in the adult world in order to understand more about their classroom learning. This issue of the TGIF features two Star Performers – Sineath Nath and Mashita Mohammad Effendi. Sineath and Mashita are demonstrating to their classmates that they can mix it with older students by attending different universities in Perth as a part of their learning plans.

Our tour of Canberra is now only 42 weeks away!!! 25 students, 3 parents and 5 staff are heading off to Canberra in August of 2009 to learn more about our nation’s capital. This term, several fund raising activities will take place. Keep your eyes posted for more news. |
